For a few non-strategic products/projects we would be also searching for partners to out-license.
Company Portrait
Intendis - the Future of Dermatology
Intendis is a globally operating pharmaceutical company – striving to become a leading partner in dermatology. Intendis is focused on the development, manufacturing, marketing and global sales of high quality, innovative topical therapies, targeted to treat skin disorders.
The current product portfolio comprises treatments of eczema disorders including atopic dermatitis, as well as psoriasis, acne, rosacea and fungal skin infections (mycoses). Intendis has a number of successful brands such as Advantan® and Nerisona® for the treatment of eczema, Travocort® (dermatomycoses), Skinoren® (acne), Finacea® (rosacea) and Psorcutan®/Psorcutan® Beta (psoriasis). Intendis GmbH is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Bayer Schering Pharma AG, Germany, with headquarters in Berlin and part of the global Bayer HealthCare organization.
In order to market dermatology products worldwide, Schering in recent years expanded its presence in dermatology to a global scale. Especially, the establishment of a dermatology business in the U.S. contributed to this goal. On this strong basis, Schering decided in 2004 to establish a separate legal entity for Schering’s worldwide activities in dermatology. The new company, Intendis GmbH, started its activities as of January 1st, 2005.
Intendis is pursuing a strategy to invest in the marketing of the group’s well-established dermatology brands to broaden their global reach. With a strong sales and marketing organization, the company is already well positioned across major markets. In addition, Intendis is developing new medical entities to further expand the business in areas with the greatest unmet medical need and promising growth opportunities. At the same time, the company will look for a strategic partner to create critical mass in major markets.
